Lipitor Should Not be Taken in the Following Cases
- If one has not consulted a physician, using
Lipitor can be dangerous. This is because one
does not know his or her body strengths and
capabilities better than a doctor would. Consuming
Lipitor without a doctor’s prescription
would in fact be an uncalculated risk.
- The doctor should be informed of a person’s
average alcohol consumption before beginning
Lipitor usage. As emphasized above regarding
the action of alcohol on the liver, this would
also be a risk.
- Also, the doctor should be informed if one
has a chronic muscular disease, requires major
surgery, or if one has a blood disorder.
If anyone has any conditions such as the ones
mentioned above, they may not be able to take
Lipitor or their dosages would have to be adjusted
in accordance with particular conditions. Even
if treatments for particular conditions are in
process, caution is advised.
Lipitor falls within the FDA pregnancy Category
X, and this means that Lipitor will certainly
cause birth defects. This is because cholesterol
is important for development of a baby. Using
Lipitor would mean that a baby would be deprived
of vital nutrients, causing it developmental problems.
It is not yet known whether or not Lipitor passes
on to the breast of a mother. However, it is advised
that one should not take this medication without
consulting a doctor, when breast-feeding. |
